Day 1: Birding from Kampala Masindi via Mabamba Bay – Shoebill Stork
Begin your day with cap of coffee and then to transfer to Mabamba Swamp, 50 kms west of Kampala, Look out for many different birds on our way to the swamp like the Papyrus Gonolek, White Shouldered Tit, Red Cap, Western Banded Snake Eagle, White Winged Warbler and Weyns Weaver. This Swamp is one of the best places to spot the exceptional Shoebill Stork. Then later drive backwards to Kampala and transfer to Masindi where we shall spend our night via the Luwero triangle passing through undulating grasslands and mosaic woodland where we drive looking out for the White-crested, Turaco, Bronze-tailed Starling, lesser Blue and Great Blue Eared Starlings and among othe. Have evening game driver along Nile delta to spot some bird species and animals such as giraffes, buffalos, elephants, lions antelopes and so on, later drive back for Diner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/Chobe Safari Lodge/Pakuba Lodge/Fort Murchison.
Day 2: Boat cruise and Budongo forest.
Begin your day with cup of coffee and then embark on launch cruise birding on River Nile, while here you will have an opportunity to come closer with such bird species include; Red-knobbed Coot, Spur-winged Goose, Shoebill, Allen’s Gallinule, Black Crake, Woolly-necked Stork, Saddle-billed Stork, Goliath Heron, lesser Jacana among other as well cordials and hippos and others wild animals. Later, drive to Budongo forest for birding in later in evening. Birding in Uganda’s largest forest-825sq km is one of the great experiences you can have while on your birding safari in Uganda. The unique bird species which include; African Moustached Warbler, Chestnut-capped Flycatcher, Puvell’s Illadopsis ,Black-eared Ground-Thrush, Lemon-bellied Crombec, Chocolate-backed Kingfisher, Little Crake, African Paradise Flycatcher, Nahan’s Francolin, Purple-headed Starling, Greater-blue eared Starling among others. Day 3 Drive to Kibale National Park
After early morning breakfast, you embark on long drive to Kibale National Park making some stop over for lunch along the way and for a number of catchy birds. Arrival and overnight at Kibale home / Ndali Lodge/Papaya Kibale Lodge/Kibale Forest Camp.
Day 4: Whole Day Bird Watching in Kibale National Park.
The morning breakfast breaks up your day, and then walk gently for birding in this forest park with a list of over 300 bird species expecting to see; Red-capped Robin-chat, White Chinned Prinia, Ludher’s Bush-shrike, Snowy-headed Robin-chat, African Emerald Cuckoo, Green-breasted Pittta, Black-billed Turaco, Narina Trogon, White-headed Wood-hoopoe, Blue-shouldered Robin-chat among others, then back for lunch and later slope down to the Bigodi community wetland to watch some bird species. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge/Papaya Kibale Lodge/Kibale Forest Camp.
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking and back to Kampala
Enjoy an African bush breakfast before setting out for chimpanzee trekking in the forest. This will be a satisfying day in the middle of Africa as you track chimpanzees within Kibale forest park. Other than the Chimpanzees and other primates, the forest has a rich bird life and butterflies. Return to your lodging for lunch and then back to Kampala.
